After Yoko Ono

1. Put a snowflake in a shoebox.
2. Write on the inside, bottom, “You’ve failed.”
3. Close the lid.
4. Write on the top of the lid, “Open it.”
5. Give it to your father in winter.

Austin Sanchez-Moran received his MFA in Poetry from George Mason University. His poems and short fiction have been published in RHINO Poetry, Denver Quarterly, and Salamander Magazine, among many others.
